Beneficiaries
Proceeds from fundraising events are distributed by the NOAAHH Board of Directors to metro New Orleans philanthropic agencies and charities that are nonprofit and are experienced in providing food and shelter to the needy. A recent study by the Food Research and Action Center reported that the New Orleans metropolitan area had the eighth-highest rate of food hardship in the nation. Food hardship is defined as the lack of money to buy food that families need and is considerably worse for households with children.
